Compassionate Cities

Reach out to those most vulnerable in your city, and help lift them from poverty

Today when smart city leaders gather, words like “inclusivity” and “equity” are increasingly part of the conversation, whether it’s about transportation or housing. These leaders recognize that advances in digital infrastructure are only beneficial if they can advance society’s most vulnerable populations. Though there is no one-size-fits-all solution to poverty, homelessness, hunger, mental illness and isolation, there is mounting evidence that technology can help alleviate suffering through improved tracking and monitoring and more efficient and comprehensive delivery of services. Government agencies and nonprofits are finding that tools they already have access to including social media to predictive analytics, can help lift people out of poverty and promote more equitable communities.
